Integration: Salesforce.com API

Do you have a Salesforce.com account to which you would like your LiveBall respondent data sent? No problem! You can easily accomplish this using an automatic, integrated data transfer from LiveBall to Salesforce.com.

Before We Begin, You Will Need:

  • An enterprise level account
  • An administrator level user account, password and security token
  • Salesforce field names for each data field that will be exported

If you do not have an administrator level user account, you can integrate with Salesforce.com using a standard web form post.

Let’s Get Started!

The following is a simple process that will guide you through the automatic data transfer process:

  1. Set up your export format in LiveBall
    1. Navigate to the Integration tab and select Data Exports.
    2. Add a new export format
    3. Label your new format and select “Create lead in Salesforce.com” from the export type drop down menu
    4. Click Save
  2. Add data fields collected by your LiveBall form and any other hidden fields (i.e. keyword, source codes, etc.) you wish to push into Salesforce.com.
    • When adding each data field, you’ll be asked to fill in the Salesforce field name.  Be sure to use the exact data name required by Salesforce.
      1. A “standard data field” is one that is standard to Salesforce.com, such as “FirstName.”
      2. A custom data field is one that you have set up in Salesforce.com specific to your organization.  This must be passed as “customname__c” placing two underscore characters and a ‘c’ behind the field name.
  3. Set up your export
    1. Click green “+export” button
    2. Label your export, select export scope & format and click save
    3. After selecting the export format that you just created, the screen will refresh and require you to enter your Salesforce.com account information and password.
    4. When you enter the password, you must also enter a security token.
    5. *Note: to attain your security token, submit a request from within your Salesforce.com console and it will be e-mailed to you. Once you receive your token, copy and paste it immediately after your password (with no spaces).
      • *Note: for security purposes, once you enter and save your password and token, it will no longer be visible in LiveBall.  This field will appear blank even after LiveBall accepts the password.  You will not be asked to enter your password and token again unless you make changes to this export.
  4. You can export immediately when a form is submitted or schedule a batch delivery time.
    • To immediately export leads after a form is submitted:
      1. Navigate to the creative(s) housing your form(s)
      2. Click the form
      3. Click "+advanced rules"
      4. Set Conditions to "no conditions required"
      5. Set Actions to "Export Immediately" and select the Salesforce export in the drop down to the right.
    • To schedule a batch or back-up delivery to Salesforce:
      1. Use the calendar icon to the left of your export to pick the days/times you want the export to fire and click save
      2. Enter your email address using the envelope icon and click save.
      3. Navigate to the "campaign management" screen of each campaign that should be included in the scheduled export. Under "Campaign Resources" click on "Scheduled Exports" and check off the Salesforce export.
      4. Your lead data will now post to Salesforce at these scheduled times and you will receive an email notification as well.
  5. To test your export you’ll need to open a traffic source for a creative that exports to Salesforce and submit a lead via the live URL. You’ll also want to set yourself up to receive a “peek at post” email to see the response from the Salesforce server.
    • To keep test data separate from real results, copy a creative into a test/sandbox portfolio and campaign. Open a traffic source in your test campaign. Visit the support post found here (http://tinyurl.com/65p8cjj) for instructions on opening a traffic source.

Hi

How would I add a peak post? Do I need to set up a separate export for that? It doesn't eem to be an option in the Salesforce export.

Thanks,

Rose
