Encrypt data collected on LiveBall forms

Protect sensitive data managed in your LiveBall console by marking it for encryption.  When you mark a data field for encryption it will be encrypted using the AES-256 encryption standard (selected by the NSA as secure enough to protect national security data classified as TOP SECRET). To enable encryption on any data field:

  1. Navigate to the global Integration menu and select Data Collection
  2. Click into an existing data field category, or add new ones
  3. Click into an existing data collection field, or add a new one
  4. If adding a new field, you'll create a title, assign a data name and maximum character length then optionally add a validation pattern
  5. Check the box beside “Encrypt” to enable then save
    • Data will be encrypted in the LiveBall database
    • Data is decrypted upon export or dynamic content substitution

Once a form field is encrypted, this cannot be reversed. To no longer protect specific data with encryption, a new data collection field will need to be added. In the form, the encrypted field will need to be replaced with the new data collection field.
