ion interactive is excited to announce a set of powerful, new LiveBall features, based on user feedback. Check out these new features below!

  • IP Blocking and Restrictions
  • Domain Manager Redirect options
  • Dynamic Substitution for Email Notifications
  • Framework Library Enhancements

IP Blocking and Restrictions
Under the global Settings menu, a Manage IP Restrictions menu item is now available. To add a new IP address, click on the "+IP" button. IP addresses must be added one-by-one. The restriction options are as follows:

  • Treat as crawler/bot- Visitors originating from the IP address can visit creatives but will not be tracked. The respondent (crawler/bot) will not be tracked in reporting or performance gauges.
  • Block with 403 (forbidden) response- Visitors originating from the IP address will land on a 403 (forbidden) error page when attempting to visit creatives. 403 error messages indicate the page exists, but you are denied access to it.
  • Block with 404 (file not found) response- Visitors originating from the IP address will land on a 404 (file not found) error page when attempting to visit creatives. 404 error messages typically indicate a page has moved or does not exist.

Domain Manager Redirect options
Under the Settings menu and the Manage Domains menu item, you can select between a 301 and 302 should a redirect to the default URL occur. A 302 redirect informs search engines this is a temporary redirect whereas a 302 is permanent. This will likely be of interest to customers that leverage the domain manger to redirect (sub)domain visitors to a LiveBall traffic source.

Dynamic Substitution for Email Notifications
If you pass a sale's representative's email address into LiveBall from a CRM email campaign, you can use @@EmailAddress to populate your Email Notification advanced rule. Your advanced rule could be structured like so:

Condition: No conditions required
Action: Notify via email - @@EmailAddress

Framework Library enhancements
When a new framework is uploaded to LiveBall, the in-console editing controls will now display "create" as the button messaging for themes and master page templates. Existing frameworks will display "update" button messaging for themes and master page templates. This will provide more clarity to LiveBall developers!
